new rider needing advice

Hey guys. I just got my first bike from a supposed friend of mine. 07 ninja 650r. Handle bar kind of bent and light cosmetic damage. Test ride went ok. Found out the next day he ripped me off. The left fork is bent and the triple tree set up is jacked up. I didn't know what I was doing or looking at. Does anyone know where to find the left fork for this bike and some handle bars? The front tire was bald so I fixed that first. But when I get on the highway I get real nervous about that fork. Any and all help is appreciated.

I would also check out any Kawi forums there are for used parts as well. You always run the risk that the used parts might also be damaged. If this other person is actually your friend he/she should at least be willing to split the cost of these parts with you or make up for the troubles somehow.

did your friend give you a good price considering the damage or did you pay a no damage price? If he gave you a price that reflects the repairs you would have to make, he did nothing wrong... you saw there was damage and you did a test ride. It could be that your friend did not know enough himself to realize the extent of the damage...then again your friend could have just you for the fun of it.
