lets do a little basic math
120riders @ 140.00 ea. = 16,800.00gross profit.

MSRH rental rates:

Road course track rental rates PER DAY:

Weekday (M Th), Full Day $5,700
Weekend (F Su), Full Day $6,700

I fail to see your logic, someone is making money.
PLUS insurance
PLUS ambulance
PLUS many other costs that it takes to run one of these orgs.

Still aint a killing. People are in business to make money.

And we can always assume NOT EVERY rider is paying 140, some are paying 20% less some are paying half, some are paying nothing.

And that's IF you max the grids.

I've been around a bit longer than you, so you can't assume I haven't USED them. I used to work for TTD. I thought it was a great organization. I had no idea the brothers weren't paying the tracks.

Not to mention they pay the teachers, corner workers, etc... and they serve you lunch.

And there aren't always 140 riders out there.

From what I heard the instructors don't get that much $$$ (They do it for the passion towards the sport & too help others)

CW I think cmra is the only 1 that directly pays the corner worker.? Otherwise you're stuck w/the credit or you can sale it later on depending on the organization you CW for.

So you've used Extreme Motorsports Trackdays? Cuz that's what I was referring to.

That's what this discussion at least started about.

this will not happen. If it does, a control rider will bump them down to 1 during the first session. It's VERY obvious when an inexperienced rider is in 2 or 3.

Level 1 however, that might be a different story. Could be total noobs mixed with level 2 riders who just dont want to move up, etc. I'll be in 3 and have no worries
Yea i ride 3 as well. Just threw out my opinion. What day will you be there? Come find me and say hello.

Keep in mind please, not every T/D org "stuffs" the grids, LSTD for example, you will not see more than 30 "paid customer" riders (not including instructors/control riders) on the track together, that is a very stern ruling with LSTD, SAFETY absolutely comes first.

LSTD only having a max of 90 paid customers = X amount

Others having 40+ per group x3 = X amount

so, while your numbers seem correct, that sum may not add up to be the same for each rented day.

not every org pays their instructors, yes, most of us do it for the love and passion of the sport, and more-so to help others become better and safer riders in the end.

I'd rather someone tell me at the end of the day how much more "safe fun" they've had than on the street and how much more they learned throughout the day than to receive payment, at the point of getting paid for your service, you are now doing more of a "Job" than you are doing something you like and love.

I have a regular day job, been instructing since 2006 and have yet to get paid 1 red cent, do I care about that? No!! Have I given any real thought? No!!

My payment for a job well done is a big smile and a hand shake at the end of the day accompanied by a thank you.

Nope. Not hating on them, either. Good for them for offering a service at a discount. I'm just saying that at that price, they may last as long as TTD, or their prices may go up next year. Somebody has to get paid.

This is why I do the adv course through LS. I can't afford to do all my td's with them... but when I want primo service and plenty of room. That's where I go.

But that's beside point- $90 trackdays? music and bikinis and ? I'm all over that

Something tells me there is more financial backing/leeway room for ETD than other organizations. I may be wrong, but that's just the vibe I get from the guy in charge

I promise you, they are not doing it for free, as Soulracer stated above, business owners are in business to "make" money, not necessarily to lose money or to even get rich, especially in this business.
