Tard died on me today

Was riding to work this morning and engine backfired them died. Will idle all day but give it gas and it dies, at idle and in gear. Rode it last night and it seemed fine. Any ideas?

Will fuel delivery make it run like that? Could it be intake valves?

Check the floats in the carb...sounds like its not letting enough fuel to flow. If it were valves it would be hard to start usually.

Which carb do u have? The FCR? I think thats the stock carb on older E models...its a to pull, unbolt the subframe just above the carb and pivot the subframe aft to get an extra inch or 2 of clearance.

He'll have the FCR and yeah, it'll run like that when it needs cleaning. fuel.

I would do the easiest thing first. Dump the fuel and drain the carb. Fill it back up with different gas and see if that solves it. If not I vote carb. Did you clean the jets out?
