Reunited and it feels so good...

I haven't been posting much since January. This is because my baby was stolen from me. This morning I got a call. A guy had been arrested driving a stolen truck with my stolen bike in the back.

She's been dropped a couple times, a couple bits of minor plastic damage. cylinders for the key have been shredded. shifter is bent into the shift linkage. Front calipers and rotors are all taken apart. I don't know if there has been any engine or tranny damage, but , it's more than I had yesterday.

Not necessarily, I had full coverage, cops called me first at 2 in the AM when they found mine crashed with the piece of Sh** that stole it on the side of the road . . .

I had liability only, but they still would have contacted me. They ran the VIN and it came up in the system as belonging to me. they contacted the officer working my case, and he called me this morning.

Also, the truck he was carrying it in was stolen from a dealership. They want their truck back now, so they are paying the tow fees. I just have to rent a trailer or something to transport it. Shifter is a little messed up and the front brakes are disassembled. won't know about the engine till later.

Anyone know if I can buy a new ignition cylinder and key to replace them myself?

SVRider.com or I can show you how to wire it up on a switch with the correct resistance and everything lol. If you need help let me know... I have been keeping my SV running for a while... and if there is any engine or tranny issues just get another used engine. You can get one for like 600 bucks and its not worth splitting the entire case on those engines. If you can get an 05+ engine... they have some of the issues more worked out. Congrats on getting it back... that was one of the less common yellow ones. On the bright side you can build it naked like you talked about.

thats odd, someone mentioned your bike was yellow, i saw a guy posting one for sale on craigslist without a title he was asking a price that you would sell a bike WITH a title, and i kept emailing him saying $500 no questions asked, and he finally responded that it was sold.

Also, if your going to replace the ignition cylinder you will need a security torx bit set to remove the ignition off the bike, however, if the cylinder is at all repairable first take it to a locksmith, i would suggest Saylor lock off Jones rd and Cypress n. Houston, they are the best, In my opinion. they can likely rebuild it even if its FUBAR

Weird, if he was way up north side, like Woodlands/Oakridge/Conroe, then it might have been him. As for the cylinders, the key won't even go in anymore, but I'll give them a call. It doesn't cost anything to ask.
