When I first stared riding it wasn't required to have headlights on during the daylight hours. Do I see this leading to some kind of new law?

Still butthurt about being taken advantage of? LOL

I think those LED's are illegal and will get you a ticket, especially in blue which is a color spectrum reserved only for emergency response personnel.

A 3rd brake light in red LED's would be perfectly legal, and cool.

if it was done with the intention of being seen for safety purposes I can dig it, but the chances are it has a lot to do with a d-bag factor.

Doubt it/hope not. Forcing motorcycle companies to change a little bit of wiring is a little less drastic than forcing an industry to completely redesign their product especially considering they would have to reevaluate the safety in all of their helmets.

It would be cool though if LEDs were built into the back of jackets and then had a wireless receiver that synced it with your brake lights. Equally unrealistic, but would be a nifty gadget.

Just takes someone to do it...and the public to buy into it...

Actually my GMax helmet has a red light on the helmet and they sell a wireless system to tie it to your brake like. Good idea, bad investment on cheap helmet..
