Expired tags ?

The sticker on my license plate for my bike is expired , it's from a different state so it's taking me kind of long to renew it. Has anyone been pulled over with expired tags here in Texas ? I need to know if I ride it and get caught will I simply get a ticket or can they try and take the bike from me?

They only tow you if you dont have insurance or are wasted.
if youre having trouble getting paperwork you should be able to get a paper tag good for a month for $30 iirc from courthouse

It's up to the officer. They can impound the bike if they want to.

This. The more things you're doing against the law, the more likely you are going to have your bike impounded. It's always up to the cop, though.

If you don't mind paying the ticket then why not just pay to get your bike legal...

I know someone who's bike got impounded for expired tags while buying smokes at a gas station some years ago.

As Challen says stated, it depends on the Leo's day and his mood.

as long as you have been in Texas, why do you have out of state tags?
Seems like you could get a ticket just for that.

You have to ask yourself a couple of questions:

1. Do I ride like a douche and attract attention to myself ?

2. Am I concerned enough about this to ask what members of a motorcycle forum think?

If yes to either, see below:

Call your local tax office, you can get a temp tag while you are waiting to title it in Texas....(if you are going to continue to register it in another state, park it until you get legit...)

Here's an idea, stop riding it until you get your stuff current.
