Can you be more specific with the issue...also consider its summer time.

Assuming your talking about engine temperature, put the extra fan on the tail. Face it backwards. This will reduce the load on the engine. Hence; Cool Runnings

my bike over heats when i sit still but is fine when im going i just checked the coolant it still good. they only put one tiny fan on these bikes like dumb 's so i figured by adding another one the bike would run cooler. i was just going to hard wire it to a toggle switch.

why not wire your current one to both a toggle and the thermostatic switch? if you know you are going to sit still, flip it on. if you forget to flip it on, it will come on as normal.

if that doesn't solve it, then add another fan.

how did you check the coolant to verify it is good?

Theres not much you can do. Assuming you have the zx14. Bigger engines will heat up quickly especially on sportbikes.

Fans can only do so much even if you override the switch.

Does it ACTUALLY overheat (as in spew coolant past the radiator cap) or does the temp gauge just read higher than you think it should?

how often are you sitting still?

i wired my 929 back in the day this way and it kept my temps down and certainly extended the amount of time it would take for my bike to reach the temperature required to trigger the fan via the thermostatic switch.

You havent provided enough info for anyone to be able to acurately help. How hot is too hot??? what temp does it run down the road at? what temp does the fan come on? does it continue to get hotter and hotter with the fan ON ? unless your engine is loaded with internal goodies the stock cooling system should be plenty.

Install the manual switch on your current fan and cut it on before the engine gets too hot as mentioned in an earlier post. It helped on my ZX-12R. Also, make sure your system is air free. Maybe try Engine Ice coolant?
