Exclamation Why are bikers to blame for accidents?

I was listening to the radio right now this 7 am morning and was listening to k-hits, the oldies station here in houston. The dj comes on the air talking about traffic and how there were two different motorcycle accidents off 1960 and also mentioned that yesterday had three motorcycle accidents. He then went on to say that it must be that time of the year, spring time where alot of bikers are out riding and then he said: " i guess they forgot their riding skills". Once I heard that, it me off because who's to say that it was the bikers fault? seems like everytime a biker gets into an accident, they quickly assume it was the biker that caused the accident. Sorry for ranting so much but it just me off!!!

Its ignorance.

Its also the same with railroad engineers. They're the one's trailing ten thousand tons of train, with no steering wheel, and less immediate braking effort than a motorcycle - yet they get persecuted for hitting someone who runs the crossing.

the victim is always the guy who gets plastered. They never mention the victim's in the locomotive who have to relive that moment over and over for the rest of their lives.

It's probably got a lot to do with all the stunting/speeding people see bikers do on the streets. That's what sticks in people's head. They dont realize how many times cars roll into our lanes, cut us off...etc.

Call that DJ and tell him very respectfully that you are a motorcyclist.
And if he really wants to know if you've "forgot your riding ability" to just go and ask his wife.:icon_bigg

That's how the media portrays bikers.

<shrug> because there ar a number of riders that are complete and utter retards.

Tuesday, ranking rd/I-45 watched a guy on a rocket...in squid gear (helment, t-shirt/jeans, no gloves etc) blow the light at rush hour...swerving as far as as dividing line between his lane and mine.
