03 Kawasaki ZX6R

Ok, So My friend let me borrow his bike to Ride the SMR. It has not been started in about a month. I attempted to take it out and and pulled into the meet spot to meet up with Schmidie. As I pulled into the gas station the bike just died.

We would start it and it would run for a few seconds and die when idling. It was fine when riding with out having to stop, pulling up to a stop light or stop sign I would pull in the clutch and it will die.

I drained the gas and put in fresh gas still has the problem.

Not sure what I should look at next. If you read this Schmidie if I am missing anything please post up

Any Ideas on whats wrong?

If you keep it off idle, will it continue to run?

Probably around 1000.

Just a guess though, I don't have a 636.

Bad stator? Check voltage at battery terminals while running.

until you fix it, idling at 2000 isnt going to hurt it. Most of my 600's (4 of them have been kawi's) have idled happily around 1500. Below that and they are sluggish to start

I disagree. There is a reason why it won't idle at the factory recommended specs. Running it at a higher rpm may very well do more damage to whatever is causing the problem in the first place.

I'd rather not be doing 70-80 on the freeway when one of these more extensive problems rears it's head.
