cnFamous riding place...deals gap...good old days when lived in nc.
Some of the locals there would make the regular advanced rider look like a novice in those roads.

That trip is over and it's in the Events, Meets and Rides forum as "Deals Gap, Spring 2013..."

F ...yup..the rising notoriety of this area has brought police from both neighbiring states to patrol the living out of the area. Friend's Group riding through got pulled over ... by a chopper...lol. Can see the look on their faces when they go through a turn only to find a chopper landed in their lane blocking their progress.

In general, many say that too many riding tourists, combined with super twisty roads, trucks trying to go through, and cops patrolling, have made it less appealing lately.

That's good to hear. I've got an Ark trip in my sights, first time there. Hot Springs is only 100 miles further from Houston than the 3 Sisters....might have to give up on those ....

Having been there, unless you're talking about a chopped motorcycle, I would love to know exactly where there was enough room to land a chopper, unless it was at the VERY bottom down where the road curves around the lake.

My first time through I ended up stuck behind a sheriff's SUV about 1/5 way thru, so I just pulled over for 5 min. before continuing on.
