It's because of the road pegs.

true story:

When I put those on, next day....the shift shaft started leaking oil.....

This is the water pump leaking.

Going to rebuild the water pump.
I am going to pull the engine that way I do not have to lay on my back the whole time.

Might as well do a few other things at the same time.

suspension bearings (wee bit of play)

The intake valves were just barely in spec, so they will get done while waiting on parts.

rebuild/overhaul the carbs too.

well,

The teardown has begun.

exhaust, radiator, bunch O hoses, oils gone, what water was there is gone (great for ridding the crack grass), all gone.

I think while I am there, I am going to rig up an actual h2o temp guage, so a new hose or two is inline.

I also have to drill and tap for the exup . One of the bolts broke off, so I'll make a new cover plate, drill and tap the holes for m6 thread.

Maybe I'll take pix of the poor girl in disarray.....anyone wanna see an abused dismantled?
