Street Riding etiquette

Since I started to ride the streets again, I have been lane split by other motorcyclists a few time. Is it a norm in Houston? Riding 5 years in Michigan and 4 years in Chicago, it has never happened to me once.

For example, I tend to ride on the left side of the lane, and on the way home today a guy just cut to the right and passed me in the same lane, kind of caught me by surprise.

yeah, same lane passing is a douche move.

and kind of unrelated, but people that "buzz" other bikers for fun deserve to be outed by the mc community, imho

You would think fellow riders would feel the same but some people here are just very inconsiderate of others trying to enjoy their riding. Also, there's a lot of nerve and ego involved.

Why are you on the left side of the left hand lane? I own the left hand lane and dam near ride the line to the right.

It is the passing lane so maybe thats why. Were you slow poking it?
