so I got me a new bike

its a 94' Honda shadow "vlx" doent want to idle unless the choke is all the way out, I know its not fuel injected but would a bad battery affect this?

Ive tried
]
new fuel filter
new gas
carb choke cleaner
and the plugs dont look too bad either

Im thinking of having patrick rebuild the carbs:dontknow:

The carbs probably need to be cleaned.

Im thinking of having patrick rebuild the carbs:dontknow:
when you have to pull choke to idle, that means it has an air leak and is sucking to much air and when you pull choke it puts enough fuel to make it happy.
check carb mounting clamp, check rubber intake for weathered cracks and wrap with black electrical tape to test and then replace 'em.

could also mean clogged idle circuits and low jet
