Svs are special, just safety wire and fluid holding lower I think, I need to recheck rulebook. Planning on sprinting yours this year too?

Mine has been lowsided, highsided, and slid into a t-post fence. Bent a subframe, bent a fork, destroyed a gas tank, folded a muffler in half (t-post did that), not a scratch on the engine. Ta dah! Frame sliders from svracingparts probably didn't hurt either.

Haha, this..... lowsided at 60-70, brushed off the sv and all was good as newish with shorter frame sliders.

Actually bent the freaking slider bolt that goes all the way through the frame. Thank goodness for that extra reinforcing piece in that frame section otherwise I figured it would have cracked it right there.

Figured I would weigh in on account of me knowing a few things.

The Gen1 does need one case cover... there is one spot the engine isn't completely inside everything else and i believe it is the left side. Don't quote me.

Gen2 needs no case covers. The engine is narrow enough to fit all inside the frame and noone even manufactures case covers for it.

Fastola yours is an 03 so it is a Gen 2... sooo negative.

No case covers required.

You can also leave your lower on for tech as Smiley and Linz can see all they need to with it in place.

Reason 491 and 492 to race an SV!!

If you guys need any help, just let me know. Looking forward to more SV's on the grid...

I think he's complaining that helmets have to be retired after 5 years since manufacturing date.

THAT is also good to know. I plan to start knocking out my prov nov requirement at TWS (Texas World Speedway) in July too. My schedule is too busy to get out before that so I only signed up for half a year. Goal is to get it all done by the end of the year at the latest. The SV is ready other than safety wiring and I'm going to have Brandon do that for me to avoid time and frustration on my part!

If you can't afford a helmet then you can't afford to race. HJC's can be had for cheap. Paid your license fees, Got your transponder, a new set of new tires every race weekend, race entry fees and gate fees.

about to start racing my sv again so add one more to the grid

Tires every weekend? Nah once a year unless you're endurance racing. The real tire problem is that they stopped making race tires in 160 size. If you want to run race tires you have to put a bigger rim on the back & go with a 180 now.

Eh I think they make slicks in 165 still... I think only Dunlop quit that. Could be wrong though...
