Blanco and dudewheresmybike Dyno Vids May 25th 2013

Gary and I went to Houston Superbikes for back to back dyno runs on our ZX10R's.
We have near identical configurations with two exceptions: Gearing (Gary is one tooth down in front sprocket and up two in the rear; I am only one tooth down in the front) and we are running different PCV maps (I run Brock's and Gary runs Ivan's). Both Brock and Ivan are famous and competing tuners who sell pipes and PCV's with their maps optimized for the particular bike.
http://www.brocksperformance.com/
http://www.ivansperformanceproducts.com/

Results:
HP- Gary's bike topped mine by .98 peak hp (174.38 vs 173.40)

Mapping: The better PCV map was clearly Brocks.
My bike (Brock's map is the top line)
IMAG11381 zps83ca8cb5

There is noticeable difference in power at 62 to 70.....76 to 92...and 96 to 110mph due to a rich condition in the Ivan's map.
So at the end of the day....what does this mean? Nothing...just a scientific experiment between two friends to shed light on B.S. that tuners and followers of tuners like to spew. Both of these bikes are crazy fast and I can assure you that the aforementioned power gaps will be corrected via USB cable and a friend!

Gary and I went with out of box solutions from two of the top tuners. Meaning that if you buy a pipe and PCV, you get a map optimized for your bike. By no means is the Ivans's map a poor one...its better than anything you will download and could be optimized very shortly by an experienced hand.

As for taking your bike and getting it tuned on a dyno...Ive heard 300.00 but do not know who is reputable around here.

Nope, that denotes what that dyno on that day displayed as HP for our bikes.
Your beloved BMW would also read somewhere in the 170's for HP on this dyno.

Also, out bikes did not have ram air going into the intake!

BTW, the guy at Houston Superbikes said that both 0f our bikes were better than the last dyno day winner at 170hp. Now not same day...or conditions but....still higher numbers.
