The F4 Patrick has looks good, great for the price too. I use my VFR as a track , my only complaint is her weight and lack of cheap bodywork. I haven't had any heat issues and I run high RPMS. I have been debating picking up that F4 myself since I saw it last year.

I can't find many on CL, is there a site people advertise track bikes for sale specifically? I thought I had heard that mentioned on here before.
So cheap is pretty relative. If you can find a set up Ninja 250 for 3k you would be getting a pretty good deal and you would be getting a platform that will make you faster. The ninja is cheap on tires as well a set of BT003RS can last a whole season depending on your pace. Not to mention in order to run respectable times you will have to learn how to carry more corner speed. This translates to the bigger bikes and makes you faster in the long run. Not to mention it is alot more fun to ride a small bike fast than it is to ride a big bike slow.

On to the SV650S... my personal favorite trackbike even though lack of some upgrades to mine ended in a season ending injury at MSRH this past weekend. SVs crash really well and most of the parts are cheap ... minus the tank. It is really expensive. The SV is light and nimble due to the narrower tires and really feels like an oversized 250 with over double the horse power. It has a very smooth powerband due to it being a V-twin and it is underpowered compared to the 600s. This means you have to practice good corner speed to turn respectable laps. It is a step above the ninja in power but if you don't buy one set up you will have to spend some scratch to get a good baseline platform. By set up I suggest Racetech springs and emulators for your weight in the front and at least a Penske rear shock. The rear shock is 900 dollars minimum and a necessity. Me being cheap and going the ZX-10 rear shock route and that contributed to the head shake that ended in a high side this weekend. Under hard acceleration the rear suspension compressed more quickly than the front and lightened the front end and a a bump caused some serious head shake. This brings me to the next thing the SV does not come standard with a steering stabilizer so you should get one of those too. If you want something you can learn and grow on the SV is an awesome choice that is cheap to run once it is set up. I have run tires at an intermediate pace for 5 or 6 track days with no problems so it is easier on tires than a 600.

I am asking $3300. Can send pics if interested.
This bike is a steal. I have personally ridden it at the track and it is a monster. It is extremely responsive when you tip in, light weight and has tons of power. It handled like a dream and that was before the upgrade to the Ohlins internals in the front end on the stock 08 forks. It also has a WP rear shock that is very popular in Europe and feels very stable. Can't go wrong with it and John Redford is a stand up business man that will make the purchase seamless and professional. You couldn't ask for more in a seller.

Oh forgot to mention... I was the previous owner of the 2004 R6 and... the engine in it was replaced by Tony Ta at House of Paint and has just over 3000 miles on it. It is barely broken in. And with the owner before me.. and a different engine it once held the MSRH track record...

I chased John Redford's 600 on my CBR 1000 all day at the last fastline event. Never caught it. No one did. Kris rides the wheels off that bike for / with John.

Here it Thayleal posing with it...

Picked up the F4 from Patrick and rode it my last two sessions at COTA...fun fun bike, I am going to learn a lot on it.

Just finished the Rattle Can Paint Job to match the wheels....I call her "The Biscuit" That story really made me laugh!
