I don't understand why people get upset about bikers pulling to front of the line. As if we're going to slow them down. Pfft.

2920 on the east side of 45 was a parkinlot all the way to old town spring. Lane split doing 20mph some people actually moved more to the side to let me by. Cant understand idiots that say its illegal or other B.S.

My lady and I were in traffic on 1960 yesterday when someone did some lane splitting while traffic was at a dead stop. She went off saying it was unsafe blah blah blah, I told her she was just mad she couldn't cut and she agreed. What he did seemed safe enough even with out the helmet and gear lol. She just like everyone else was mad he got to the front of the line with out having to work hard.

it's not like he is going to get to the front then drive dog slow holding up traffic. I don't do it and don't know that I would if it was legal, wouldn't vote against it either just a personal choice seeing we have lots of ignant on the road

Not sure why anyone wouldn't support this. I know most people are just mad that they have to sit in traffic and you don't. It is amazing that people threaten to open doors on people that do this just because they get somewhere faster.

I agree it should be legal. However, if the AMA and ABATE (and any other MC advocacy group) has limited resources, I would rather they spend them on more important things like keeping the EPA from totally up our machines. So far, no emissions testing and I'd prefer to keep it that way. Yes we now have catalytic converters and huge retarded mufflers, but at least we can remove them when we get home. It will only get worse if no one stops the train.

Why not can the personal ?

It's not perfectly safe things 'can' go wrong, and arsehats that do it badly don't help the situation.... then yes there's the whole 'Cut in line' thing.

I think the best arguement for that, would be to ask the person that upset/complaining to consider if they would rather have 1 or more vehicles between them and the stoplight...or less. Point out that it's very, very unlikely that you are both going to the same destination and it's not a race to get somewhere first.

Lanesplitting depends more on the cooperation of drivers than the skill of the rider. I do it in California. I split (filter) in London and when I ride in Paris. There is an understanding between the two groups.

It is a foolish thing to do here in Houston and is associated to short-term riders.

And its more comfortable IF done correctly in stop and go traffic." Think he said it shouldnt be legal one time after i said it.

So what me off is that their is other riders that think its bad or dont support it.

What is bad about it? (If it was the 20mph or slower deal)

Yah maybe cause you ride a 3ft wide harley. I understand you cant fkn fit jackass.
for me it makes the amount of time that im dependent on others doing what their supose to greater. And I bear the full consequence when they don't. Not a good deal to enter in any line of business.

I don't like sharing my lane with other bikers either, so I'm not a practitioner but have no issues with those who do. Don't waste too much of your energy on something like this. There are better things to spend your energies on.

just do what makes you safer given the specific situation, following what is leagal doesn't necessarily do that, and wont if the other person bear no risk. So you can make it legal but it wont change anything. for me saving a bit of time not worth as much to me as giving up control or trusting others more.
