road racing world race tire comparison

Noticed the combined weights of the race tires in the new issue.

battlax bt002f-- 23lbs. 10oz.

dunlop sportmax gp-- 24lbs. 14oz

michelin power race-- 20lbs. 14oz

pirelli super corsa 22lbs. 1 oz

man that michelin set has like 4 lbs on the dunlops. and and has narly three lbs. on the bridgestones. thing is thisis unsprung weight (weight not suppported by the suspension so that means it counts double the weight lost. :o also a lighter front will turn alot better also. i think i'm going to stick with michelins. they didn't rate the michlins higher than the bridgestons but in alot of ways those numbers are opinions instead of hard numbers like weight. it's a good read. check it out.

Re: road racing world race tire comparison

I just finished up a set of Dunlop 208 gp's..... takes waaaay tooo long to heat up on street but when they did finally heat up they gripped hella good........

I am now running Bridgestones BT-0014's and OMG !!! This is an Amazing street tire, I have broke it loose 1x and that was intentionally, other then that they hook good !

Going to probably try out the BT002 at the next track day. I should have a full report then.
