I was also told they did check the sensitivity at those lights because lately, I haven't had any issues at all (West Rd mainly). :icon_bigg
I don't know if this was written as I don't feel like reading through 3 pages of post whoring-but there is a provision in the law that states if the light is malfunctioning or not changing it is legal to go through the light (provided you of course stopped and confirmed this).

I don't know how this works legally-whether the burden of proof is upon the ticketed individual to prove the light was malfunctioning or not designed to accept motorcycle signatures or if the burden of proof is upon the prosecution to refute the claim.

It doesn't work legally. My boyfriend challenged this in court when he got a ticket for running a red light. The judge had no answer to his question when he asked about what to do when you are in a left turning lane, prohibited to run the light, prohibited to cross a solid white line to move into the next lane and are prohibited to back up. The ticket didn't get dismissed.

Unless there is a municipal administration somewhere that has local laws that allow this, I think you are pretty much SOL.

i waited about 5 cycles before turning. the officer told me how some of the lights in the area dont change for bikes, so i think he somewhat understood.

the 600 wasnt mine, all of my modes of transportation have insurance on them . my little ricer gets me pulled over ALL THE TIME but for some reason i never get a ticket.....weird. this was the first time that i was pulled over on a bike by myself, so i guess i was lucky that the officer wanted to be nice and let me go.

you know, they have surgery to fix that!
jk

its because of your tats and the fact that you're usually in the middle of a wheelie when the sirens and lights go on!

all together this would cost me about $1200 if I was written a ticket, right? Whether or not those offenses would actually cost that much, that's what the police officer told me they would cost me last night as he was holding my driver's license and standing next to the streetfighter I was riding. Honestly, he was a nice guy...he didn't stop smiling the entire time he was talking to me...I mean, it was my fault after all; so even if he had not just handed me my license back and told me to stay out of trouble I couldnt have been off. I have no patience with lights that don't agree with motocycles and stay red until a cager pulls up behind me, so I really did deserve a ticket I suppose. Anyways, I'm fairly sure that the whole reason that I got off with a small, friendly chat and a smile instead of a bunch of tickets was because I'm a girl.

Have any of you other girl riders out there ever had the feeling that cops go easy with women on bikes?

**** no. Ive been given plenty of tickets from male cops - i havent gotten any leniency; Ive tried crying..being nice..being a - everything. I do admit, though, that I did get out of 1 street racing ticket because the cop, I think, had a crush on me cuz i talked to him all the time @ heb. :laughing6
