3 reasons why I love being female

1. running a red light
2. no insurance on me
3. riding with a permit against my restrictions (no licensed motorcyclist was riding with me)

all together this would cost me about $1200 if I was written a ticket, right? Whether or not those offenses would actually cost that much, that's what the police officer told me they would cost me last night as he was holding my driver's license and standing next to the streetfighter I was riding. Honestly, he was a nice guy...he didn't stop smiling the entire time he was talking to me...I mean, it was my fault after all; so even if he had not just handed me my license back and told me to stay out of trouble I couldnt have been off. I have no patience with lights that don't agree with motocycles and stay red until a cager pulls up behind me, so I really did deserve a ticket I suppose. Anyways, I'm fairly sure that the whole reason that I got off with a small, friendly chat and a smile instead of a bunch of tickets was because I'm a girl.

Have any of you other girl riders out there ever had the feeling that cops go easy with women on bikes?

hey...cool, he had a sense of humor. that sounds much better than "wait 5-10 days before you go to the courthouse to take care of this"!

Haven't gotten pulled over on the bike yet.

I did get pulled over in the truck twice within a month end of last year. Two different cops, one was a female cop and one was a male cop. Didn't get anything there either.

Let's keep it that way *knock on wood*

...about the stopping at the red light. I know what you mean. I ride a lot at night coming home from my boyfriends' house and usually travel the roads with the most traffic but still come up to lights where sometimes it is just me. I only had to run a red light once. The other times, rocking my bike back and forth worked or actually putting the kickstand down. I was also told they did check the sensitivity at those lights because lately, I haven't had any issues at all (West Rd mainly). :icon_bigg

here's a bit of advice in case you get stuck at a bad light...not only should you check the surrounding roads for cop cruisers, but check the parking lot of the apt across the street also!

ease up Marlena I was only kidding...

Ya know, they make a transmitter that you can put on your bike for stop lights. The electromagnetic sensor in the ground picks up the transmitter on your bike better than it picks up cars. You may want to look into it. Sounds pretty cool, yeah?

hey, don't worry about it, I have a sense of humor too:icon_bigg . I didnt know they made a transmitter for such a situation. I think I'm going to check that out right now, actually.

Hey, I had one like that was called Greenlight Trigger on the Ninja250 and it didn't work. I haven't gotten one for the VFR. Can you recommend a special brand?
