This guy isn't going to give the bike to whoever finds it- he's just posting that in hopes it will make people look out for it.

I guarantee he's already called the cops. But as many of us know... That's doesn't provide so many focused eyes/ears on the street

I don't know details, i just remember hearing it's hard to get a "stolen" vehicle covered if they have the keys too.
Naaaa.
Scenario:
What if someone broke into a house, robbed it then TOOK THE KEYS hanging from the wall, n left with the car in the garage? Car is still considered stolen. Same concept right?

You are right on that part. But he handed the keys over to the guy.
The scenario I'd heard was leaving keys in a vehicle. Which is somewhere between what you said and what I said.
Maybe it just involves a little more explanation, and would be up for dispute if the guy came back and said "No, you told me to take it for a week." Or some random BS. Where-as if he had no keys... it's pretty obvious it wasn't with permission.

When bike shopping, i lucked out.... the super nice guy let me load the bike onto a trailer and drive it across town to have it checked out. I wouldn't expect it, but it sure was nice/easy. Then again, he was a regular on here, and i THINK i am.
