I drive a car too and I am pretty sure my definition of erratic driving is exactly the same as my friends that don't ride. I see idiots every morning on 45 that one day you will be defending on this very forum.

This. I see guys wearing no gear doing 100+ through moderate traffic all the time. I always wonder when we'll hear about them going down.

I also see riders who are wearing gear doing 100+, as well as riders in gear riding responsibly, and riders in no gear riding responsibly. There really aren't any rules, but for the most part, those who die in accidents like this one are usually at fault.

actuallly need to consider the PD/reporter is often considering it from the aspect of the posted speed limit...

If traffic is doing 70+ in a 55-65 mph zone, and then the rider is doin 5-10+, it's technicaly correct...

and if you're weaving through traffic...odds are you're moving too fast for road/traffic conditions.

+5-10mp, yes. Weaving in and out of traffic, no.

Define weaving. I try to constantly overtake traffic and avoid blind spots by moving forward through traffic.

RIP to the rider. Who knows what was going on in his life. i'm not the one to judge. ALL fellow riders please be geared up from head to toe just in case. Although you might be a safe rider, i'm more concern about bad drivers around you. "Rather be safe, then sorry."
