They are not true seizures - I don't pass out and shake uncontrollably. It's a complex partial seizure, and it's a symptom of something affecting blood flow to my brain. Very much different than a grand mal seizure - what you're used to seeing.

Quote:
During a complex partial seizure, a person cannot interact normally with other people, is not in control of his or her movements, speech or actions; doesn't know what he or she is doing; and cannot remember afterwards what happened during the seizure.

Although someone may appear to be conscious because he or she remains standing with their eyes open and moving about, it will be an altered consciousness—a dreamlike, almost trancelike state, often accompanied by movements called automatisms. These may include chewing movements of the mouth, picking at clothes or fumbling.
A person may even be able to speak, but the words are unlikely to make sense and he or she will not be able to respond to others in an appropriate way.

Brandy, i don't know how you stay so positive through your life's ( small?, no pun intended ) crisis'. you're truly one of a kind.
does the fact that you have to be driven mean that you won't be working for an extended period of time?

I don't know you, but I hope you find out what's wrong. It's a not knowing. My wife has been going through alot of neurological tests and seen various doctors over last few years and only recently after an MRI they eliminated most common neurological conditions. Howeer they still haven't figured out what's wrong with her. We're standing by to see if anything else comes up. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your wife. The ER found a cyst on my thyroid and swollen lymph nodes in my neck, along with some elevated and low white blood counts. My doctor and the ER doc think I'm having the CPS' due to something else. It could be related to my thyroid or my Celiac disease (lack of nutrients), or it could possibly be a lymphoma. We can't rule anything out yet.

My neuro is awesome - he is checking for everything. His name is Allen Chu, MD, PhD. I highly recommend him. My sister used to work for him and he's really good.

I have one of the most compassionate neuros and one of the best ones in the country if you need contact info. The staff is second to none too. Hit me up Ms. Daisy. I am sure there are plenty of guys that would be willing to give Ms. Daisy rides lol.

I may, but I'm actually expecting to find that it's not a neurological problem that I have. The seizures are most likely a symptom of something else going on - I think the endocrinologist will find the cause. The CT of my neck showed a cyst and lymph swelling with elevated and low white blood counts.

Unfortunately lymphomas run in our family, but I already have an autoimmune disease, so this may be another autoimmune disease, like Hashimoto's, or it could all be related to my Celiac and lack of nutrients.

Waiting. Waiting. Waiting.

Havent met ya yet .. but good luck getting better. I hate doctors because they normally just throw the problem instead of actually trying to diagnose it. Sounds like you have a good one. Hope they find out whats putting a kink your system.

Been through the whole MRI CT E## . Hours and hours of fun. Be glad todays MRIs don't take 6 hours like mine did. Was diagnosed with Temporal lobe epilepsy as a teen. Or so they said.

FYI guys, only a few types of epilepsy have the full on body shaking mouth foaming seizures. The brain can be going through it while you're having a conversation with someone and neither of you can tell.

Joke time. Why do girls like epileptic boyfriends? Solar powered vibrators.
