Cool No More Riding

This is just a rant; nothing more, nothing less.

Man version: I may be having seizures and cannot drive/ride unless I am six months seizure free.

LONG version: I've been sick for a long time, and even with some treatment and diet changes, I'm just getting worse. Last week I finally broke down and went to my doctor, who sent me to the ER in an ambulance (no driving from that point). After head and neck CT scans, they referred me to a Neurologist and Endocrinologist; have appointments this week.

Neuro suggested 72-hour EEG and regular EEG, and an EMG. I will probably follow up those with an MRI. Tomorrow I'll see the endocrinologist, who will most likely order more scans and tests - I've already given too much blood - 12 vials in the past week!

My job seems to be handling the news quite well - which is disturbing a little. But, my time has not been all wasted. I managed to get a lot of laundry done and made a 4' x 2' art piece to hang behind my sofa. I'll finish it up today and post a picture.

Frustration, thy name is ill health.

Okay. That's all. I know there are many of your battling health issues and other problems that make mine seem insignificant. I'm in no way assuming my problems are life-threatening, although they could be. I'm just frustrated with being sick for so long with no answers. I can't say I'm unhappy that they found something in my CT scan; I want to know.

/rant

PS - PLEASE don't message me asking how I feel. I feel exactly the same way I've felt for the past few years. I'm fine. I'm functional. I'll keep you all posted a little about what happens as I find out. Basically, right now is the waiting game. I'm having a lot of tests to find out what I don't have wrong with me.

Bevo - YES. It sucks having to have a ride everywhere. At least I can wipe my , though. Sucks for you, for sure.

As I do not have a diagnosis, being able to ride in six months isn't exactly an option - I'm not currently on seizure medication and if I happen to have another episode (that's what I'm calling it until confirmation), then I have to wait another six months...

That's not to say that I may decide that I'm well enough to drive/ride on my own. Haha.

Hmmm... this idea has merit.

"may" be having seizures? so 6 months seizure free means from the last seizure and if there is no verified seizure it would seem that 6 months has passed already?

i do hope they get this figured out rather than just brushing it off though. "modern" medicine is so rarely about cures or causes and just seems to be about symptoms.

My neurologist is doing every test available to him to make sure of the diagnosis before moving forward. He is calling my episodes seizures. The type that are a symptom of another illness.

But you are correct - I'm still not calling them seizures. He called them partial complex seizures or complex partial, I don't remember. It makes sense with my symptoms, but I'm not convinced - probably the scientist in me.

Thanks, Robert! You're always looking out in my best interest. My vag works great, as does my mouth.

Glued my art this morning. Once the glue is dry I can do some touch up painting on the spots and scratches and then it'll be ready to hang.

Thats great news! A womans value cant be all sammiches. I wasnt gonna ask about the mouth. At least not until you are 6 months without a seizure. That seems more of a risk than you driving or riding. It could be like getting a BJ from a pit bull
