kawasaki vulcan 1500 classic? junk or well made?

What are some known issues of these things? I might pick up a cheap one to do a new age wwII harley look a like. i see them consitently for sale lower than 3 grand. specifically the 2000-2004 year bikes...

my dad has a 2005 I believe (its fuel injected) hes probably got 35-40k miles on it by now and has done nothing but routine maint. he loves it, but I would be bored to death on that slow

The oil pump gears are plastic and can break. Aside from that they're good bikes.

Patrick thanks for the heads up. I think I will stick to a newer 2000+ as i believe they went to a metal gear in the following years.
