LED/Alarm Remote

Both LED lights and motorcycle alarms are two easy projects that one can accomplish in a half day. One necessary, the other for pleasure (as long as its not tacky).

Now I like both, but hardly look forward to carrying two remotes with my set of keys. Its too bulky. I was wondering if there is an alarm system that comes with the option for LED control. Does this make sense? Does it sound like a real product or am I just dreaming here?

Do you mean a single remote to control 2 different alarms?

If that's the case then probably not. Depends on whether the alarm brain has any aux outs. Being a bikes electrical system is very minimalistic compared to a car, I'd suspect the alarms are the same.

Basically that. I want to install an alarm system and also LED lights on my bike. But I am looking for a system that has one remote control for both (as opposed to having two remotes: one for the alarm and one for the LEDs).

If you find an alarm that has multiple channels (i.e. beeps horn/etc) you could run that channel for the LEDs but I don't think you could have it where it would run it constantly.

i used to have an alarm window tint shop. some of the higher end alarms have programmable auxillary outputs, ie. only outputs while holding the button for that channel, timed output, or hit the button it comes on and stays on until you hit it again. you will need to use a relay to carry the load of the lights.the outputs are usually (-) and only 20ma. i would look to DEI electronics (VIPER)as a brand. it's been a few years but when i was a dealer they were way ahead of everyone else and they do make a motorcycle specific alarm. hope this helps
