Not much different than giving someone permission for assisted suicide. It's still illegal even if you ok it.

Way different. We don't have intentions on dying, were out sharing time together.

Hmm, who just made a reference to that very same thing....

I got a DUI in college, struck a pedestrian. I stuck around and called 911. My life sucked for two years but I dealt with it. I personally don't think the penalties are stiff enough because I know I sure as have driven wasted since then. Its stupid and I have since stopped (I really don't drink much anymore anyway) but the punishment isn't enough to stop people.
I agree with a lower drinking age and a higher BAC limit, but like I said increase the penalties as well.

Your wife can't make it legal for you to ride drunk if you wreck and she dies. How's that?

Most people can't handle there composer. I myself enjoy riding, working, under the influence of many things. Meh what others think. I hold my own.

We already have enough to deal with in Houston - distracted people, cops, road debris...alcohol and riding under the influence is COMPLETELY avoidable. In my eyes, drinking and riding is just as dumb as riding without a helmet.
This happened to me once with a group of guys from work.. Literally I drank one beer at the spot along with a 1/2 lb bacon burger and fries.. Lets just say I declined to go on the next ride with them.. It's like religion.. It's not a bad thing but I don't want to hear you preach to me the whole time.. It was one beer with a meal! Two of the guys didn't even wear helmets, but somehow having a beer was dangerous

It worked with seat belts and smoking. Social influence is what does it, and it all starts with legislation.
