Well after looking online, I think I'm just going to get a lifan or zong 125. For the price I can't really go wrong IMO. Anyone have experience with either?

I dropped a new Lifan 70cc motor in a XR70 that I had laying around. It moves the bike but it just doesn't have the torque that the Honda motor does. For the price I can't complain too much though.

The Lifan 70 has a built in generator and comes with a rectifier if you want to wire up lights or something. The instruction manual was in Chinese though. I had to figure out the wiring on my own.

Is it just the 70 that has the electrical.? I didn't see any mention of it for the 125. Even if it doesn't I guess I could always get the stator wound. Like you said for the price, it'll work I think.

Not sure. Check with these guys:

http://tboltusa.com/

We ran - and won - lots of TMGP races using their parts.

I actually wound up on tbolts site today and decided that's where I going to order from. Called them and asked about the 125 having aux power, and it does.

Sweet.

4 spd clutch less will be here next week

Having a clutch would be inconvenient at times, I do mostly "urban" riding. The power for a headlight will be awesome.

You could call it exploring, more or less haha

Me and my buddy both have the Lifan 125. He dropped it into his XR70 and I replaced the 110 in my chinese clone. No complaints so far.
