Is 7.3 hp woth $1000

Im looking at getting a slip on for my 07 r6 primarily for the sound. I noticed the full systems cost $1000 + my question is am I really gonna notice a difference of 7.3 hp. This would more of regular street use not the track.

It's not the peak horsepower you're paying for- its the 10lb weight savings, the noticeably faster revving, and super linear torque curve.

That being said, without your cat/exhaust valve- the r6 is gutless below 6/7k. Like, super-more-than-normal gutless.

For street riding I'd keep stock setup, for track- a quality system is amazing. I had a Leo fll system on my 07 and have yet to ride a smoother motorcycle. Even with a full system the r6 dyno'd lower than my ZX at every rpm... But it felt faster. Why? Smooooooth

Edit- buy a -1 front sprocket and do it when you put on the slip on. You will miss the exhaust-valve derived torque otherwise

IMO you dont really need a full exhaust if all ur doing is street. ur not going to feel it unless ur breaking triple digits all day everyday.

Sport bikes don't need to be any faster, so really it's whatever you like or want on your bike. I certainly don't need anymore power on my zx10r, but I just ordered a full exhaust just because I want one

Your motor makes, probably, 102hp on the dyno as stock. Would you notice a 7% increase in power? You should... However, for a street bike it's useless: a stock 600 is plenty to get you in tons of trouble.

I've been looking at having my ecu flashed, what kind of gains have you seen with this? Any negative side effects?

The gains vary how we set up your yor tune. Either way yamaha restricts throttle to 80% from factory plus the ability to tweak timing and tune fuel aswell. Its like comparing a chip you can buy for your car from the Internet that works a little for everything vs (flashed ecu) installing a Pro EFI sta d alone engine mgmt system and then tuning it for your car.

Power commander and bazzaz only tweak fuel maps flashes do A TON more and make way more power besr bang for your buck period. Do some research to fully understand what it does or contact me ill go into further detail and let me know when you want it done

And no negative sode effects if done correctly. Ive flashed alot of bikes race bikes or street bikes I can refer you to people and they can vouch for the tune. Ive never had issues with a bike malfunctioning or engine blowing or anything like that. Its actually safer to tune with this vs only tuning your AFR's via a fuel mgmt system this also tunes timing allowing a better burn for your fuel mix

nothing beats the cool factor of a full exhaust upgrade. the look and sound are second to none. that alone is enough for me but the Hp increase and weight savings are icing on the cake.

$1000 dollars is about the difference it would cost to pick up a liter bike from that year. For that reason, I never put a full exhaust on any 600 I had.

Some don't believe it's worth upgrading a 600 simply because it's a 600. This is terrible logic.. As stated above a full system= less weight + more power + better sound. Would you and your bike like upgrades?? Does a bear sh*t in the woods? Is a sharks ahole water tight?
