Ok, I need some help (fixing the trashed 500r)

Hope someone here can help out.

As you can see from the pics its kinda bad.

As far as I KNOW... I need:

a tank
front suspension (triples and all)
headlight (tabs are broken on this one)
upper / lower fairing
front fender.
Wind screen
bar/controls

This is an 05

I borrowed it from my lil brother for the trip and the deer tore it up

I really need to get this back on the road asap for him as cheap as possible (of course)

I can lend a hand wrenching, if you need.

One way to solve this would be to streetfighter it. Does your brother want it put back the way it was or is he open to modification?

Those plastics are going to be pricey unless you go the China/eBay route or buy rashed plastics and primer/paint them. Black is easy to match if you decide to go that route. Can you even get stock plastics new? I checked bikebandit and I don't see the option to buy the fairings themselves.

what i'm really going to need is someone parting out a bike

I found a bike on CL that has a blown motor which would be perfect. but its a lil more than I wish to spend.

I wish I knew what my schedule was like cause it would be a very good experience watching / assisting something broke down like this and put back together. I have mechanic skills and with a book or video can follow instruction. I like to work on but patience is not one of my best qualities....tool throwing and use of highly technical vulgarity is my specialty lol.

20130513 181752 zps2741d22a

20130513 181913 zps5312f47e

20130513 181743 zpsc50e3599

the only thing good on that bike that I could use was the tank. And THAT bike had 35k on it lol

Even the headlight had ALL 4 tabs broken, I still had 2 good tabs on mine lol
