Been out of the game a while..James Coney Island on sat nights still going on?

I used to always hit up JCI back in the day and I knew they moved it to the Starbucks on Westhiemer, anyone still meet up there ever?

I used to like the hang out at JCI...cool bikes, good people and always a stunt show...:laughing6

Just curious where everyone is hanging out at if anywhere..

Yeah..>LOL thats kind of what I figured he meant... Looks like there is quite a few members here to. I can't believe I never found this site in my 9yrs of riding/racing locally here. Looks cool.

Still though I miss the weekly bike nights around town where you could be and check out people's rides in person. JCI used to pack em in before the big bust back in 03-04 time frame.

Yeah,I know its gotten bad. they have really killed the street racing scene over the last 10yrs, thats for sure.

I still don't see why we can't have a bike night like Dallas and Ft Lauderdale, Daytona etc...The meets are advertised and every weekend.

Problem is, down here, when you do get a good meeting place that the owners are cool with, you get people going out and wanting to act like bad and show off on a heavy traffic road and everyone calls the bacon. If people would ride cool in town and just hang out and stay quiet, they probably wouldn't have messed with us so much. Now I guess its ruined here. I have car cruises I go to every weekend and cops never show up or do anything at all, but ofcourse people are not bouncing their sh*t off the limiters and doing burnouts etc... Just being cool, hanging out..

well I am new to the bike scene but definately a verteran in the car scene. The car scene was ruined because of little young in their crappy civic hatchbacks doing burnouts and drifting and reving up their little fartcan loud exhausts.

the bike scene from what ive seen is definately not like that. I mean every wednesday night a few guys from the N side of Houston meet at starbucks on 249 and 1960, they are cool and respectful, when the car people met up there on wednesdays they would rev up and burn off, which made starbucks call the cops.

but there are also the ones who like to stunt, and thats respectful, and i admit i like to watch them stunt, so if they post up these locations, may come out and ruin it, or the cops may come out and ruin it, so not only is it for the cops, but its mainly for the little who come and act like bad and then when they try a stoppie and wreck into some dudes bike, thats what we are keeping from happening! make sense?

I really haven't rode much in the last year or so... When I do ride, its usually local in League city, Clear Lake area and Galveston. I do meet up with some guys in LaMarque from time to time and do some..ahem "riding" down south.

I also like to get a group and go ride the 149 up in Conroe/Anderson area. Super twisty and hilly.. Its dangerous though..Lots of farm tractors, hay bails and harley's out there. Some times I can't tell which is which..LOL:laughing6

I have kind of been retired for the last year or so with my bike. Just got bored with it and started playing with my 71 Vette, hitting car shows, cruising etc..

Biking is in my blood though and I can't get away from it for long.

Evan, I enjoy watching the stunters do their thing also but I normally don't ride with those type guys. Most of the time they can't ride cool and are ALWAYS showing off and that draws unwanted attention. Most of the guys I have ridden with in the past are either older or mature riders. I am all down for a little high speed, some racing etc and if we are out in the boonies, I am cool with watching them do some wheelies but... I won't be riding with guys doing stand up wheelies with me RIGHT next to them going down 45 or Broadway in galv.

Guilty by association..know what I mean.

Hit it up with the parking lot stunters if you wanna watch.. most of their bikes arent legal for the street so you dont gotta worry about the squid highway wheelies :Keke:

Yeah I watched some of those at the Houston bike fest at HRP this past summer. Pretty cool to watch but....

I would rather ride and enjoy good roads/scenery etc then watch stunts.

Nothing against stunts or stunters by any stretch but bikes were meant to do more then stunts..IMOP. I would rather ride, drag race or do a track day....

I agree with you on the guilty by association!! Our bikes already scream attention to the cops to make thier quota for the week! We all have rode with those that are freaking all the other riders out or have seen the crashes!!
I try not to ride with the "hardcore" riders either! I never tell anybody how to ride, but I prefer to relax & ride with a sensible, safe group of people that respect each others riding skills! It only takes one mishap to take down others in a split second! Bottom line... have a great, enjoyable, SAFE time!

Now let's ride!!
