Yeah there was traffic. We split all the way up to the rail road which in the end, just stopped right in front of us. I asked "is their a way"?

He said follow me! We went against the flow of traffic, back to the other split another line of cars, made a right hand turn in the middle lane, split through all the way to 290 where we finally got on.

Not gonna leave roads cause roads are monitored by cameras and id hate get the cop in trouble. Anyways, it was righteous.

sweet! ordered a 4 pack of the 3x3's (so 8 stickers for $10)....i know it ain't legal here yet, but maybe people will visit the site and maybe open their eyes to the idea....and I'll gladly support people making others aware of the benefits of lane splitting.

Ok, time to throw my 2 cents into this.

For 11 months out of the year I live in SoCal, where lane splitting is not only allowed but encouraged. As long as you aren't an idiot about it, it's safe. Plus IMO motorists in Cali are more aware of bikes bc there are a lot more of them. A perfect example of this is when traffic is stopped on the freeway and I'm splitting lanes to get by cars will actually move away for the centerline where I am riding to give me more room. (Probably because they value their mirrors.)

For the month I am back in Houston (Houston born and raised, still what I consider my home) it is really strange to suddenly cease lane splitting, but the few times I even attempted to split lanes people in cars seem to legitimately freak out, which makes me feel as if I am going to killed at any second.

In California lane splitting is an everyday occurrence, something people are used to and have adapted to. Something that's embraced to ease congestion. If it were passed as a law in Texas I would be all for it, but as it stand now, no, I donít split lanes, because I donít want to go down or get run over by a motorist who is not aware of their surroundings.
