TWS (Texas World Speedway) 2013-05-11 - First time

Howdy!

Got my Triumph Daytona 675R six weeks ago, put 1500 miles on her, and am ready to take her to the track.

So, I've signed up for the L1 RideSmart course at TWS (Texas World Speedway) on Saturday, 2013-05-11. Anyone from MotoHouston heading out there?

I know most people say not to ride to the track, but right now it's my only option so I'll be up bright and early to get there by 6 from the Galleria area in Houston.

Also, coming from Europe where the only track I could ride was a gokart track, we didn't have to worry about taping lights and mirrors. What brand of tape do you use, and where do you buy it?

Anyway, hope to see some of you there; rubber side down!

Have fun at TWS (Texas World Speedway)! I put a shout out for you on the RideSmart track day thread. Hopefully someone can add you to their transport.

Put a piece of painter's tape on your windscreen, too... then stick your Ridesmart L1 sticker to that.

If you don't, you'll be trying to peel that Ridesmart sticker off for days.

Someone with a trailer can't give this dude a lift?!

I'd be exhausted.

Got my tape, instruction manual, and rain gear. Good to go! Here's hoping the weather doesn't suck at 0400 tomorrow morning.

Have a great time. I rode to my first couple of track days with a big backpack on my back.

Track will be very green, depending on whether the sun is out tomorrow. Given that, take it easy when they cut you guys loose late in the morning/early afternoon.

@Brutus Thanks for the tip; from the videos I've seen of the track, it looks rather bumpy compared to what I'm used to in Norway and Europe.

Rubber side down!

Thanks! I'm very happy with it so far, can't wait to go round a proper track on it.

In Texas your racing line is almost influenced by the bumps as much as by the layout of the track!
