Does this sounds like a good deal?

http://houston.craigslist.org/mcy/3791617576.html

If it were just the carbs that needed to be clean would it be a good deal?

Meaning its a good deal if you can deal with the rust. You can make it pretty again with funds, and parts.

That would be cool! I came off as an , but did not mean it that way. Think about the soundness of the frame compared to modern day bikes. It will take alot of money to get that bike up and running. It's up to you though. Post up your progress if you decide to take up the challenge.

that is a time and money machine, but could be cool when you are done with it... and if it is all there, it is a good deal.

I wouldn't sell my only running bike to get a project, but it would be a fantastic donor for a cafe project. However, do it right or save it for someone who will. Nothing personal but I have very little faith in most peoples ability to build a really cool, safe, rideable bike themselves. Tons of people buy little bikes and hacked the out them ruining an otherwise great machine.
Actually, as complete as that bike is, I'd restore it to new (with maybe an electronic iggy). Shame to risk hacking it up, then again you may wield a of a wrench.

You really have to LOVE the process of restoring an old relic. The time and money that'll take you to get it to a presentable - never mind show "show" - quality will be far more than what you pay initially to bring it home. It'll be a labor of love and a 55-gal drum of elbow grease.

Yeah, it is probably cars, tires, few cables, tank rust, fuel lines, maybe timing or primary chain. It is never just the carbs. Never.
