I have lost grip in the rear straight up under acceleration many times, but the sides are great! I got 6000 miles out of the rear, and 15,000 miles out of the front.

I just started getting a little slip on rear when I WOT it and they are cold but I'm way past table topping and about to swap with a fresh one. I've been out on some 30 degree nights, got ice on the bike when I get on, and never had a problem. Rode over 100 miles in some heavy heavy street flooding rain and they stuck solid for me. Ab so lutely love um. Had metzlers before and the PR3s are much better in my onion.

I have the PR3 rear, this is my second one....there will not be a third.
Good miles out of them, but they get a bit slickery when I start railing on it.

I was only giving my 2 cents upon my own experience with the tires. Almost every tire has a fault, and loss of traction happens with temperature, road conditions, and rider input. I now have Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa takeoff's, and for the cost they are well worth it.

Nah. You'll just get so many different opinions that you'll be back at square one. Sunday Rider's 16/23 combo is pretty popular for commuting. Decent tire life & sticky enough for what Houston has to offer.

pilot roads here. have used almost all of the above and then some and the pilot lasted longest. All others were gone in a few months right in the middle. Some times I would go through rears in a month when it was above 100

Go with a sport touring tire then. You'll get a lot more value out of a set.

For weekend riding a set of BT-023s has more than enough grip and will last a long time too.

I just got a set of Pilot Road 3 on Friday. Have not used them before to have a review, but you can get a set from Tony at House of Paint for a good price.

I have been running Bt016 front and BT023 rear combo with decent mileage. I commute 64 miles daily on 290.

pilot road 3's? are you kidding me.....

if you ride hard when you hit the street grab some race tires like the R10's. i ;like mine bc i can drift around with ease until they get hot.
