I really like running bt016 front/bt023 rear, 7k+ miles and enough grip for the street..... or Q2's if you don't care about the tire lasting long.

+1 for the Q2's

Front tire last awhile, my rear wore out kinda quick but track days were on it and the center looks brand new though. I dont use it to commute ever really, very rare.

I have the Q2's and love them on the street. They may wear a little quicker than some others, but you can pick them up for $200 all day long at least in a 120/180 set.

You haven't provided any information, other than "Houston streets," that indicates what kind of tire you might need. Will you be commuting, popping whoolies, terrorizing cagers on overpasses, etc.? What's your riding style?

dont choose a tire because of the look, that is the least of your concerns when picking a good tire.

if you dont ride aggressively then go with a sport touring tire instead of a hyper sport tire, they will last much longer and are less expensive.

That's what I have on my VFR800 now although my 16 is a pro. It's still going strong at 8000 miles. The rear bt-016pro was shot before 4500 and half of that was highway miles! So that's when I put the 023 on it. I think that tire can be a little stiff for a lighter weight bike.

But yeah, without even a motorcycle type in the OP's profile, we don't know if it's for a 250, Hayabusa, or a cruiser. "You're going on about it all wrong son"

My smart- answer was going to be "round" either way.

I have Pilot Road 3s. Have put over 7000 miles on them and back is just now getting worn. Love them. I've ridden in ice, floods, gravel, everything and they never loose grip.
