Yeap! I did see a few names on the list that shouldnt be on it, but it was their choice, Eric posted all the dangers and risks of this ride and he capitalized not for noobs! Just as a future reference, if you havent ridden in group 1 of my SMRs, you should not participate in any BORC rides!

Good deal man! Just remember that there is nobody on any of these rides or this forum that you need to impress! Some riders feel that they need other's approvals or something, and that simply isn't the case! It's been said thousands of times, ride your own ride! Just be more selective about the people you ride with and the stlye in which they ride.

I waited around till about 10:30 and then busted out. If someone would have called me I could have picked up the car and trailer and come and got his bike since I was around the corner. Glad he's ok. Maybe next week...

I usually keep the fast pace rides off the forums and only invite people that i know can ride to come and participate, all invites are sent via text messages only, it is the only way to have an incident free ride. By keeping it off the forums you discard the possibility of having less experienced riders join the ride and less potential of accidents simply by not making this type of rides accessible for the over confident noobs out there that are more than willing to take all risks just so they can impress the more experienced riders and feel like they belong with the faster riders.

The problem isnt really posting this type of rides, the real problem is that people that sign up have no idea of the pace or think they can keep up and make a mistake by trying and pushing their skills to the limit.

Why not make forum subsections for Lvl2 and 3 rides. That way a forum mod who has seen you ride has to give you access rights to the forum section. This keeps it organized, along with ability to post post ride. If you don't document issues like this, newer riders will never learn except from making these same kind of mistakes. It's better to read and see where one rider up and learn ahead of time instead of an ongoing stream of mistakes/ injuries/ broken bikes/people/familys.

just an idea. Flame on.

Mostly i think people just need to learn how to read..... The nature of BORC ride is that there is no effort put into the organization of the ride, whoever is faster will ride in the front and set the pace for the rest. It just takes too much effort to keep rides organized so that is why this ride was about just riding at a fast pace, not organizing!

Newer riders just dont know their own skills and think it is just a matter of openning the throttle once they see a straight road, for them that is a out style ride but the surprise comes when they see that a turn is approaching and none of the bike in front are hitting the brakes going into the turn at triple digits sometimes..... Unless you put in a lot of effort to structure the ride and assign each rider to a certain group, there is no way to stop people from signing up on rides that they shouldnt have, after all it is their choice and the only way to stop this is not making available this ride for them to even make that choice.
