Welding kickstand?

So.... i guess my bike is just being a right now.. the kick stand broke...

long story short, put her on the stand, turned around and felt her tapping me on the back.

would it be alright to have someone weld it up for me?

or should i just go get a new one?

thanks everyone!

It may help to know where it needs to be welded. It's common to cut and weld them for lowered bikes. Bevel both sides and get a decent full penetration weld and it should be fine

it broke the weld right where it mounts (i guess it would be the top weld of the tube piece.

I will be buying a new one, but i do want to make a few rides this weekend...

so i guess im asking, if i get it welded do you think it would suffice for a couple rides?

I don't see how getting it re-welded by a good welder isn't going to hold up or fix it to be like new.

depends on the condition of the base metal and prep. It shouldnt have failed in the first place

find a tree. I once left for Fayetville with a group. Got there and my kickstand was MIA. Leaned it against a tree. True story.

This. My bike has a custom shortened kickstand by none other than Tony Ta - HouseofPain.

The man can hook you up - he can get you a new one AND repair the broken one for the best price in town.

Remove the kickstand and ride it. if you need to park it, lean it against someone else's bike, like chris 5.0's bike for instance.
