just renewed my motorcycle policy. $129 bucks for the year with theft after dropping roadside assistance and getting a discount for having my M endorsement. Another reason I dig the ol ZX7.

sorry to keep bumping this thread, but hopefully my experience will help someone out down the road. I got some paperwork from Progressive after executing the policy, one of the papers was an acknowledgement that I had declined Underinsured and uninsured coverage. Got me scratching my head, so I inquired what it would cost to ad that coverage and what the limits were. Get this, more than double to insure the idiots around me. lol So, my policy went up from 129/yr to 286/yr to add this. Nuts, but well worth the assurance I'll be covered in the event of some dumbass does something stupid while on the streets.

But how old are you, are you married? Those are the two things that make my rates sky high, that and my one ticket.

State Farm does this "magic" discount if you insure a car with them too. Literally cuts your bike rate in half. I was a progressive guy, but when I heard that I switched.

$43/mo Full Cov on 1050 triple. Progressive wanted ~80. (25yrs old, no tickets/accidents)

The car rates are the same

yeah, companies do that "magic" all the time....you see, I only insure 3 vehicles and a home (soon to be 2 homes) with Liberty Mutual....they still couldn't touch Progressives rates when it came to adding the bike. No one company is the end all be all....shop regularly. For me, that will be once a year to keep them honest.

I'd like to know more about the same, because when I requested for a quote, they said they don't give discounts for auto + moto --> it is typically with home + auto/moto.

Dairyland provides the cheapest for me, along with state farm. I don't have luck with Geico or Progressive like others do.

The best I got was $562.30/year with Dairyland with my 08 GSX-R750:

100/300/100
Comprehensive - $500 deductible
Roadside assistance

Had to re-look at mine after reading this and discovered I was in the same boat, no uninsured motorist.

So I just now raised my bodily injury and added uninsured/underinsured. Raised my premium $385/yr for 4 bikes, which is worth it to me. Thanks for posting that Dbuck.

Oh and just a tip for anyone who has more than one bike with Progressive, and also has a 50 or any mini-bike. Go online and add it to your policy. It actually LOWERED my existing premium, with 3 other bikes, by about $180.

I want to see if you guys purchase bodily injury if you have medical insurance already. I need to look into my policy more, but I don't want to be paying double.

Clarification, she's not staying with Nationwide out of loyalty. Staying because she get great service...any issues, quotes, claims, etc....they go to WORK. She's funny that way about quality service. The fear with going with some of these companies, is if they need to pay out a claim....they wont or give the run around and might not have the customer service that she's accustomed to. When she had her bike she was insured with progressive for low rates.

Also, doesn't credit score take a dive for all those rate quotes/checking every 6 months?

We'll check around. Thanks all.

I do not get PIP coverage since I'm 100% covered after my $3k health insurance deductible.
