Why do cagers think they can do this?

Every single time I go for a ride, there is always at least one cager that feels the need to try and either race me, or literally ride less than a car length behind me. How many of you have this problem and how do you handle it? I don't want to end up a statistic because of some kid not paying attention.

That's really all I can do, and what I hate worse is when I go on a ride with my father, I watched some mustang cutting in and out of traffic and getting right up on him. It severely angered me because it's my dad, you know? I don't want him getting injured from some one handed driving douche.

HA! I've actually done that, they probably think that I'm going to crash or just a bad rider.

sadly we have some aggressive and ignorant drivers that don't have any care for the riders in Houston.

I haven't had that problem fortunately. I've actually been surprised at how many people driving in the left lane move over when I come up behind them - they don't do that when I'm in my car.

I live near Galveston, the closest I've come to Houston traffic is near Edgebrook to go to Cycle Gear lol. There was a woman in a red BMW trying to race me, she came too close behind me and veered into the guardrail to avoid a collision. I lol'd but had to change my pants when I got home because of how close she got to me.

I think they move over cause if you're in the left portion of the lane then sometimes the light form the bike hits their driverside mirror and they don't really enjoy being blinded, lol.

I normally stay 5 mph above traffic, but if someone is hauling in a car I move out of the way.

I occasionally run across knuckle heads that think they can "race" a bike, last time was some douche bag in a Z06. I kindly twist my wrist for 2 seconds just to let them know to keep dreaming lol

(I do not condone street racing)

Buy a cruiser.
Just ride your own ride. Don't get baited in by someone who thinks their car is fast.

When they try to race I just smh. But when they tailgate, THAT me off, especially since I'm usually strolling along at a comfortable 85. If the lane is clear in front of me, I'll turn back and stare at them for a second or two. So far they've all gotten the message. I don't move over for anyone. It always seems like they change lanes at the same time, and that can lead to pants.

If you aren't going to move over for a car that is traveling faster than you, take off. Do people not understand the rules of the road? The left lane is the fast lane. Go fast, or get out of the way.

If I am already going 10-15 over in the fast lane and passing vehicles ..stay off my ... im not gonna move over and get stuck behind slower traffic.. now if the lane next to me is clear and the guy behind me wants to go 90 .. I move over. I have had tailgate me in the second lane and im doing 80 .. left lane is clear. I will slow down to them off at that point ... now this is in my truck of course.

If there is someone more crazy than you, let them by. That is all I am saying. Rejoin the fast lane when the psycho moves on.
