In the UK, you need to remove your helmet.

I guess if you pump gas or go into a store you have to remove your helmet! WTF

They must still be able to pump then pay. If you can pay after you pump i understand. Inside the store i definately understand.

Being a new rider (all of 4 days) I was wondering how this was gonna work. Taking off gloves to undo the chin strap then lug the helmet inside the store. Not a big deal but was not sure how this was gonna work.

Yes, in the UK you pay after you pump and when I was riding there last year I was paying over $9 per gallon. There are small signs all over the station warning about you being on camera and the fines for leaving without paying but it still happens often.

I always took my helmet off and moved the bike away from the pump because I knew I would be waiting in line inside for a long time.

I never remove my helmet, nor have I been asked to, when inside a convenience store.

I can understand why, but I open the visor and they can see my eyes. Same as commented above about the baklava.

I never take it off, an no one has ever commented on it. I sort of expect to be asked to remove it every time, but it never happens.

Baklava meaning Burka?

I can understand why an attendant would be concerned with someone coming in with a helment on, especially with a smoked visor, because they fear being robbed. They do not have the jurisdiction to ask you to remove it though. Tough decision for someone making $8 an hour.

What the is pork pie

Pork Pies as well
Some may think it a bit 'old school', but I have a shoei multitech flip front lid. (On a 990 SMT !)It is quiet, fairly light and you can sip water and eat pork pie with it on. Flipped up its no problem in petrol stations, even supermarkets. Regards Mark

I never take it off anymore and so far no problems. Yet to go into a bank geared up yet though.

I always take my helmet off when I go into a gas station, the post office, etc. I either latch it to the bike or carry it around. It is a pain to take off my gloves, flip up the face (modular helmet), take off and stow my glasses, pull off my helmet, pull out and stow my ear plugs, then stuff my gloves in my helmet and latch or carry it. But I hate walking around a store with my helmet on, with ear plugs in.
