Any Kawasaki Mech's out there?

'99 ZX9-R. I ground a hole in my stator/ generator cover (left side)and was suprised to see engine oil leaking from the hole. Is this correct? Should this case have oil in it or did I lose a seal?
Thanx

That's normal, justreplace the cover, as long as nothing is broken on the inside that should be all you need.

That seems like the case. Manual even says to put a suffucient container under the case when pulling the cover. I was glad to hear your reply. I'm still waiting on the new cover. The old gasket is in good shape. OK to use?
Thanx again.

I'd buy a new gasket. I recently replaced my stator cover also. It's cheap, and you know it won't leak.

or at least use some liquid gasket if you're going to keep the old gasket (not recommended though)
