2011 R1 - Argument with young man at Cycle Gear

Man/Illiterate Version: It's a STICKER.

Female/Literate version:
I saw the skull and flames R1 parked on the walk at Cycle Gear this afternoon. There was a young employee sitting on his CBR, also parked on the walk, in front of the R1.

I went to get a better look, because from where I was it looked as though it may have been custom painted. Upon closer inspection, it was quite obvious that it was a sticker and could easily be removed.

I mentioned it to Slovy - "Oh, it's a sticker."

Young man, surprised at my lack of intelligence, "No, it's custom painted."

I looked closer. I could see the decal edges very clearly; they weren't even clear-coated over. Also, the smoke-skull was pixelated. I said again, "No, it's a sticker. I could peel it off."

Young man, "You can't peel it off - it's paint. Yamaha custom made them that way - it's custom factory paint."

Me - wide-eyed, "Sweetie, that's definitely a sticker. But because I don't want to off the owner, I won't show you."

He was exasperated by my ignorance at that time and went inside. He left his keys in his bike. I went inside and asked if the bike was his.

Young man, "Which bike?"

Me, "Either one."

Young man, "The CBR is mine."

Me, "You left the key in it."

Young man, "No, I didn't. My keys are in my pocket. Oh."

He went out and got the keys and I left. Slovy pointed out to me after I left the young man made more comments about how uneducated I am.

Dude. It's a sticker.

Did you click the link to the R1 forum?

i scrolled down and there was a tub of macroni and cheese I saw with some weird girl laying in it and then another weird chick in a tub full of cereal and milk. weird r1 owners. Honda ftw

nah im jp around, im pretty convinced and wouldnt be surprised if it was a sticker, especially if it peeled off like that. Why didnt you just rip it off real quick? and be like "whoops..... I thought it was painted on....."

Sounds like the SW store. Miss the guys that used to wok there. Real friendly and knew how to take care of customer. Always greeted me - by name - as soon as I walk into the store. The dudes there now don't exactly make me feel welcome.

It wasn't his bike. I would NEVER vandalize somebody's motorcycle. Never.

It was Pretty funny. He said it wasn't a sticker... I rubbed it... Looked at brandy and was like... Uhh.. Then he declared it was a sticker yet again. And brandy looked like she was about to have a fit trying not to make this little guy cry :P

I'm sure he would have cried if I had ripped if off and handed it to him. He was so unconvinced that I could possibly be knowledgeable AND educated; I'm a girl, after all.

The bike looks better w/o the stickers in my opinion.

Andre is a cool dude, always asks how my friends are doing. The rest that I know of are gone, Chris was cool as (Filipino kid). He posts on here every once in awhile. The other guy I think was mike (Hispanic guy)? , had a red SRT4 neon - he was cool. Not sure what happened to him, but the white guy with the Hondas2000 was fired. I'm not to familiar with the newer people.

If it had been the boy's bike, that would have been great, but it wasn't.

I was there today and saw that bike. I kinda like the stickers. Just taste, I suppose.

But they were obviously stickers.
