Used swingarms are cheap! Probably because they Never break lol. Lucky for you, your body and the bike frame are it replaceable like it is.

swing arms are cheap.. since they barely get wrecked.. and then poeple usually do single sided swing arms on gixxers.. i say you can find a new swing arm for 100 or less.. and then maybe a caliper if that mount part is broken. cheap fix. could be worse.

Hey man, my name is Jason, I was one of the guys on the scene (chased down the chick in the SUV)...

It's certainly not un-repairable, the issue is more in the cost of the repairs (quite a few damaged plastic panels too) as estimated by their books. I've picked up a late-model GSXR swing arm for like $35 before, but I've also seen bikes totalled for just having a scratch on the frame. Luckily, it appears your frame slider saved the side it went down on.

I'd definitely have the frame checked out to make sure it wasn't tweeked by that impact. Odds are in your favor since the swing arm actually broke (less force absorbed through the swing arm mount to the actual frame).

If you keep it and want help putting it back together yourself let me know, I'd be happy to help.

Yes and no. Citizen, but student driver who did not have her license yet.

What us off is that even after her mom showed up, the cops let her leave driving her SUV unattended (mom was in a different car).

So she was unlicensed AND tried to run?
The only way she should have left was in the back of a police car...

I would suggest contacting our site sponsor and favorite lawyer...
WACKJUM aka Fresnel Phan

He has helped many people on the forum with moto related legal issues and he may just have some advice for you.

Not exactly. She stopped to make sure he was ok and was telling us that she couldn't stay because she didn't have her license yet. We convinced her that if she left it would be much worse for her because she would be found (we were going to follow her) and would likely be arrested for hit and run at that point. As it was she was only cited for driving without a license because there was supposedly a witness saying she had a green light (going straight thru intersection on Shepherd), and we also had a witness saying he had the green arrow (turning left onto 34th off of Shepherd) when she hit him. "He-said-she-said" situation and no proof of fault, so no citation issued for the collision.

Yep. Cops were actually cool though, both of them ride. I was really surprised when she left driving her vehicle by herself.

I dont know the year of your bike so I did some research on the 06-07 and 08 gsxr750.

Step 1: Swingarm $40 - $80
Step 2: Brake Caliper Including master cylinder and line $30 - $60 bucks
Step 3: Look for any other damage I can't see by pics.
Step 4: Call your local I fix for free because I like helping people guy (aka Me).

Of course this is the non-insurance claim way to do it.
