tires.

stick to the essentials. you don't need extra power out there. sometimes less is so much more.

as far as jetting kit, I would jet according to your bike's needs. if the jet kit is needed for your spark arrested pipe, then by all means install it.

If you don't have hand guards, I always suggest those.

If you don't have a hydration setup, I would say you NEED that.

Good gear would be essential. Boots that might give you some ankle support should probably be worn. If you have a way to protect your knees and elbows, those would be beneficial.

Be prepared for a major workout!

Right now my 27th SHNF is put to "pending" status. I might end up in California that weekend.

Any one know if kenda760 trail master is a good choice for a klr? I all ready order it so i can't go back i was going to get a d606 but the guy told me it would not last a month on my bike so i really did not want to spend $150 every month on tires?

I would not recommend Kendas. Tck 90's or d606's are the way to go unless you want to spend lots of time layin 'er down.

I got d606s on my klr600 they work ok its a heavy bike stay outta the mud take a extra shifter with you. The d606 is holding up and I do commute on the freeway sometimes and cycle gear should be able to mount them dirt bike tires are usually not that hard to mount.

Oh and you will go through 2 or 3 back tires before you shred a front up and id only change the tube out every 2 or 3 tires if it still holds air!

Thats funny as the D606 is usually longer lasting than the Kenda on pavement. But the Kenda is a good dirt tire so you wont be able to blame your falls at SHNF on it. Make sure you drop your air pressure once you get to the trails.

Cycle Gear does installs for tube tires. $25-$30 depending on if you have a rim lock or not. But why not do it yourself? It's not that difficult once you learn proper technique and the money saved on one install will pay for all the tools you need. And then if you get a flat out in the boonies you'll be able to fix it yourself and ride home.
