Stator upgrade and lights. Depending on who/what you know....around $200!

look at this build for parts links like lights and brake switch etc.

Is a 250 'tard even worth owning, or would it be equivalent to buying a ninja 250 after owning the zx10r?

The 450 falls short at GSS and that is the smallest track that you could ride on close to Houston. I would go with 450 or bigger. I am sure the 250 does fine when just commuting. And there are a lot of variables. What are you going to do with it and what kind of 250? mx, trail/enduro?

250 Tards are still a ton of fun and can still wheelie/stoppie. Larger bikes like the 450's just make it easier to wheelie.

I would pretty much just commute and play around town on it.

I've owned a wr250x and now own a wr450 (I had to convert it, though, obviously). If you don't mind doing a conversion and putting in the time and effort, a converted tard is just awesome for street holiganism. I absolutely loved my wr250x but if I had to pick between that and what I have now, i'll pick the 450 over and over again.

That little extra torque seems to make for little extra fun. Maintainance on my 450 will be more frequent (not much), but it's a happy trade off for me.

250s are still a lot of fun but unlike a dirt only bike I don't think you can ever have too much horsepower on a street tard. Go with a 450.

There is no replacement for displacement. Go big. Weight difference is nominal.
