I was the cornerworker in turn 10. Feel free to bash me all you want. But if I didn't realize he was dropping and get him off the track, the entire track from turn 7 to pit in is covered with oil, and jonbones probably blows up his bike. If you thought cleaning up the oil took a long time, try increasing the distance oil was dropped two fold.

As soon as I saw the smoke, I ran back to my station to grab my black flag (was already at the edge of the track with the checker out). When the rider got close enough that I saw he was dropping, I immediately motioned for him to get off the track. Unsure of if he would understand or how he would react, I prepared to cross the track and "force him off". At this time he is going 10mph, as clearly shown in the video so I am not worried that he will hit me. As jonbones will confirm, if I did not motion for him to get off the track he probably would have continued right on into the pit or until his motor let go.

I was instructed to never cross a hot track, so this was not Ride Smart or the track marshal's fault. It was my decision I made, and if you don't like it, therein lies the blame. Why? It was level 1, the checker was out and I was in one of the slowest turns on the track. I felt confident I could navigate the track, but thank you for worrying about me. Your concerns are truly heartfelt. You can also clearly see me looking back in the video to watch for riders, I didn't blindly sprint out.

So what was the point of running out across the track when he was already off his bike? We had reports of the bike smoking as soon as turn four, so I am trying to figure out when he first knew something was wrong so we could get the yellow out in those turns to prevent people from going down. Prior to my turn, we only knew he was smoking, not dropping. So my goal was to alert the other corners of possible oil in there corners as well. About the same time is when the other guys go down in turn 7 and 8, so there is radio traffic and I cannot get the call through.

Did I do everything perfectly, absolutely not. But in the time I had to react, I made the best decisions I could.

How many trackdays have you done? Cuz his misinformation is actually accurate: If you have a mechanical issue that causes you to be off pace, you're supposed to put your arm in the air, and get off the race line. Granted he did cross back onto the line in T8, but otherwise did the right thing.

Trackday orgs would rather you return to the pits under your own power than have to send a crash truck out to fetch you, wasting track time for everyone else.

What the is wrong some of the TrackDay riders. We are suppose to help each other out. Solve issues together. Discuss topic and give good advice. Be there for each other! The forum is already bad enough as it is. Can't we still have good track riders environment OR are we going to let it be a talking fest like the forums. Cause if so, I don't want to be a part of it.

You can blatantly see people trying to antagonize an argument and cause a dispute. Why would we want to cause a divide in the people that go to enjoy track riding instead of doing it in the street. I do not want to see bullshit drama in future track days. I go do track days all the time because it's a good place to meet other riders and doesn't have a bunch of none sense drama like some of the meets in town.

There is always a sort of brotherhood with the riders that go do these track days...... not this . WE WANT MORE PEOPLE TO COME OUT AND DO TRACKDAYS so that we can educate them and maybe save their life some how. Not for them to be scared that they will get talked OVER AND OVER AND OVER if they make a mistake. They are going to make mistakes. Doing this isn't going to help them learn how not to make a mistake.

People go to track days to learn stuff they don't already know. How to be safer. How to ride better. No wonder some new riders avoid the track. They aren't knowledgeable and will make mistakes. This is how you are going to treat the people that makes mistakes? Absolutely pitiful. Shame on you!

We want to be productive and help out. Not go backwards.

(This is not directed at everyone. Most people have been helpful and stayed out of the high school drama BS. But for the ones who have I am not trying to start an argument. Just bring light to the situation and ask if this is what we really want?)

Everything is cool, didn't mean to bash anyone.

I think we are all out there to have a good time and be safe, bottom line.

Everyone makes mistakes. I think we all know the ultimate responsibility for anything that happens out there falls on ourself.
