I have been riding the streets for along time now and have rode with some of the fast guys from couple different forums / groups. Most have given up street riding or decide to give up motorcycle riding completely.

Brandt basically saying "Ride Your Own Ride" "Don't try to Ride Over Your Head"

I corner worked that corner durring a race. Glad you are ok. So did you come to a stop in the barn over there?

Well written, Brandt! I get it, but I am also not one of the young riders on here.

Hopefully the young ones will live long enough to get it....

I'm not overly concerned about feelings. I mean a care about people's feelings but they're just feelings ya know.

There's this little elementary saying that goes like this.. "If it don't apply, let it fly". You know. "If the shoe fits wear it".

I'd guess that the only people whose feelings would get hurt about a little rant, hoping to maybe help a noob to the forum, would be because the shoe fit.

The more miles you ride on the street the more clear this should become. The newer guys on sport bikes are obviously the most at risk. This only amplified on group rides with faster more experienced riders that know the roads well. I have done the majority of my 10+ years riding solo and didn't do group rides with a bunch of strangers until I moved here. The first 2 rides I went on the person directly infront of me went down. I think I have done one ride since those first 2.

After probably 40k miles on the street all across the county you learn a few things. You aren't racing anybody out there, ride at a pace that will get you to the next gas station/hotel/restaurant/home. RIDE AT YOUR PACE

I don't think so. You just come in here the place up over and over again.
