I would suggest that people PM their ideas to you. Those ideas could be aggreagted based on similarities and discussed/voted on at the burger joint.

Without a conference room and flip charts/powerpoints, it will be hard to facilitate an open forum discussion without a little pre work.

What about a "buddy" system? For explanation purposes, let's say two riders "George" and "Jim" will ride group 2 that morning.

Jim would give George his number and also his emergency contact information and viceversa. During the ride, Jim will make sure that George is at the "gas station" or whererever the breaks happen, and viceversa.

That way if "Jim" is not at the gas station, "George" knows something is wrong, and can alert the rest of the group.

If for whatever reason "George" needs to leave early, he can tell "Jim" so he is aware. Then "Jim" should talk with another pair to join that group.

At the end of the ride, when Jim arrives home, he sends a text to George to say he arrived safely. George does the same.

I am halfway expecting to see Ross Perot at this thing. Good Idea Blanco. PM suggestions, aggregate and then discuss or just do a poll and see what ideas have the greatest responses.
Although I would preface that with somethings are non-negotiable such as proper gear.
I like what they do in the mines and you have to register.
Everyone gets a number - at the end of the ride the numbers better match up and they have to give it s specific person. Will admit rules make the rides less enjoyable but in the end you are minimizing risk.

wtf why are you bringing religion into this? yes I do believe someone is looking out for me. but its not the place to bring up faith.... the idea is to put things in the open to help make things safer and fun.

In a world full of hugs and unicorns, yes, but in this world there are a hundred lawyers that would stand in line to sue everyone in hopes one of them would settle.....

A few years back, on a larger group ride, we had a similar incident.... Ever since then, i've refrained to do these types of rides. When i do ride, it's with no more than 4-6 riders that I've proably known for quite a long time.

Plus, smaller groups tend to ride better for many reasons.

My .02. GL with y'alls meeting.

You know that in all amateur sports and professional sports they all pray and give glory to gos d before they start.

I challenge the christians muslims and etc on this board to do the same before each ride. However, i understand that some are afraid. And you know who you are.
