Yea, but sometimes you have riders that bail without telling anyone. Everyone has to be on the same page and follow a set of rules, like, "tell the leader or the sweeper if you plan on leaving the ride"

You guys in the first group can still hit RR south if you want, most of the rules are made for the second and third group anyways, but i wont be taking group 2 or 3 through there again, there are only 4 turns on that side but mostly blind turns so the risk vs reward balance just doesnt make sense.

I wonder if there shouldnt be a waiver that people sign for these rides. Theoretically MH or the ride leader could.be sued.

i usually print out a list of riders the night before the ride and keep it in my mickey mouse funny pack, once we get to the Exxon station i usually do a head count without people noticing it, so yeah it's not rocket science and that is why i never announced it to anyone when doing a head count.

I agree, but with a group as big as Frank pulls, it needs to be more than that. Different standards need to be put in place so nothing can slip through the cracks when you have a large group like that.

Leaders & Sweepers can only do so much, it takes the whole group to be on the same page to make it happen, that is why i always say if you dont like our rules you are more than welcome to ride by yourself.

+1 we need to bump up our current rules and add new ones to better manage larger groups.

I wont be there. But I got an idea. the best one yet.

How bout someone lead the group in prayer and ask the holy spirit for everyones safety.

I remember a guy used to do this on our group rides and everyone was always safe.

Then after that, the group rides i was taking people riding on the back of my bike.

Diregard PC and not wanting to offend anyone, but its better to have than not to.

so...all your meetings and safety measures are all for not without the holy spirit.

Christians rise up, or watch your world crumble before your eyes.

oh yeah... mods close thread.

Well, i am hoping after making proper adjustment we would not be needing another meet like this again, but if we dont get it right the first time we will give it a try again the following week for sure.

Hey Adam, it's the one on South Kirkwood, just 0.2 miles north of westheimer.

Yep...that's why we were asked to remove " out" from the ride thread titles...MH didn't want to be held liable for allowing a " out ride" to be organized on the site. same as saying spirited ride, just sounds worse I guess..no big deal though...the BORC understands and abides

IMO! bottom line...every rider is responsible for their decisions and actions.

If you are in a group ride that is too fast...stop/ pull over and tell them you have to split...

If you find out the group is trouble...pull over/ tell them you have to split.

If the group is too big...same thing...just let someone know and leave..

I have done rides where the group was too big to keep up with..
I asked other experienced riders to help manage the group into smaller units..
I even stopped posting my rides and went to private PM rides.

You should consider a buddy system..where every rider should buddy up with someone and let them know when they get home...everyone posts up they made it home...if they are not MH members, their buddy should post for them..
